»detours« is a performative art series that lets you experience existing knowledge from a different perspective through mental diversions. Detours invites you to an alternative journey companion, offering small “detours,” mental redirections to critical questions of urban practice in an interactive and performative manner. This journey companion is a collaboration between Guerilla Architects, Berit Fischer, and Leon Klaßen.

Pinzgau, AT
As part of Supergau Festival für zeitgenössische Künste
The seats are comfortable, the air conditioning is running, and the picturesque mountain landscape passes by behind the tinted windows. The valley stretches out, the tires whirring on the smooth asphalt. Lush green meadows, a few cows, a few farms, a few cars. Tourism is booming, the gondola lift takes you straight to the summit. Is everything still fine here, between Mittersill and the famous Krimml waterfalls? Can you trust your eyes? What does the Pinzgau region have to do with Berlin and New York? Snow cannons or lake balconies? Third homes or Aperol Spritz? School or chalet? Are these the heights of speculation? Is this still the present, or are we already in the future? Get in and come with us on a “supergaudi” that never wants to end. Accompany us through a fairytale forest and gaze at the glaciers of the Venediger Group. Will you join us in saving what can still be saved? An inconspicuous village, the mountain stream flows, the money flows too. How are we doing, how is nature doing? What future are we speculating on? How will the landscape change? Laugh with us. Mourn with us. Raise a glass of gentian schnapps with us. A lot can still happen. In the end, we’re all sitting on the same bus.
